Christ Our King
Diocese of Charleston
Christ Our King: Father Jeremi Wodecki

I was born in Poland in the Archdiocese of Czestochowa and grew up in Poland and Germany in Lubeck in the Diocese of Hamburg. Before I moved to the United States I was a seminarian in the Archdiocese of Czestochowa in Poland. My mother Irena and my father Czeslaw are currently living in Poland. I have two brothers. The older is Filip, who is a seminarian for the Diocese of Venice in Florida studying to be a priest, and my younger brother Lech who is living in Vienna, Austria. Everyone in my family is very supportive and helped me on my way to priesthood. I always looked up to Pope John Paul II who was a great example of faith for me and my family and I also had many friends who were priests who were a great example of faith.

I always wanted to do something outside of Europe even before I went to the seminary. Although I did not know much about the United States, I spoke English along with Polish and German, and I was optimistic about my decision to follow the call of God. When I arrived it took me some time to get used to the new environment and to get to know the people with whom I would be working for the Kingdom of God - but it turned out fine.

I graduated from SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary where I worked on my Master of Divinity and I am also a graduate of the Jesuit University of Detroit Mercy where I was working on a M.A. in Religious Studies. I am incardinated into the Diocese of Charleston in South Carolina. I received the Sacrament of the Holy Orders of Presbyterate on July 27th 2007 A.D through the laying on of hands and invocation of the Holy Spirit by his Excellency The Most Reverend Robert J. Baker, STD in Columbia, South Carolina.

I am looking forward to every task that God is going to give me, especially to proclaim the Good News and the Kingdom of God. I am looking forward to the grace that comes with the Holy Orders to bring more people to God.
