Christ Our King Shelter Team
One team of Christ Our King volunteers
Every evening, some 90 to 120 homeless men gather at the shelter located at 334 Meeting Street in Charleston. Volunteers from various churches staff the shelter each evening on a rotating schedule, serving dinner and breakfast the following morning. Christ Our King, one of the churches on the volunteer schedule, assumes responsibility for this very special ministry on the third Tuesday of every month. All months - Wednesday Morning (3rd Wednesday of month) arrive by 05:20AM. Prepare and serve breakfast. Should be finished by 06:30AM.

Feb, April, June, August, Oct, December - (3rd Tues evening) arrive 6:00PM. Help prepare evening meal with COK ladies. Serve dinner, should be complete by 8:30PM.
The meal usually prepared includes ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, peaches, and bread. Dessert is typically either muffins or brownies.
