A Note from
Sharon Willi
We
started the Moms group here at Christ Our King because we felt
that we needed to have more of a family perspective. We also felt that
Moms, who are the main teachers of the faith for their children,
needed to be equipped to do the task. That was our original goal. To
accomplish this goal, we formed small faith sharing groups that come
together each week to read and discuss various topics of spirituality.
Of course, God had other plans
that were hidden from our view. We certainly accomplished what we set
out to do, but oh, the surprises that God had in store for us. I love to
just put something in motion and sit back to see what God does with
it.
From our time together, let me tell some
of the surprises we found. A close knit support group that is there for
each other. Friendships that have blossomed and grown with each
passing week. As we grow in our spirituality, we have begun to reach out
to others in a variety of community service efforts. An added sense of
what it means for each one of us to be Catholic and the courage to be
able to share that with others. Questions about our faith don't frighten
us anymore. We are equipped to be evangelizers for our families,
friends, and all those around us. I've even noticed signs of inner
peace creeping into myself and the other moms!!! I think our
families have noticed a change in our attitudes towards them and all
those we meet.
I am blessed to be with my moms
every week. I look forward to our meetings and always look forward to
new moms getting involved. Email
me and let me know if you want to watch God work in your life!!!!
It's
an awesome adventure!
