Beach House at Christ Our King

Dear Parishioners,

We are embarking on a new and exciting project and Christ Our King and hope that you will applaud and support this endeavor.

As you know, for at least the last twenty years we have had a very active Youth and Senior Ministries. Each of these has had a center that was originally built for use as a home. (The Youth Center was originally a store, which later became the frist rectory; the Senior Center was previously the home of a parishioner which we bought and adapted.

What we would like to do at this time is somewhat unique, but hopefully extremely beneficial to both youth and seniors. It is our hope to construct an intergenerational facility shared by both ministries. There would be space designated for each group, but shared space also, which will provide a wonderful opportunity for mutual influence, support, growth, and understanding.

The "Beach House" would be precisely that -- not an institutional facility but a home -- generating warmth and comfort, promoting relaxation and celebration. This webpage describes this concept.

Our goal is to build the "Beach House" to the standards of sustainable design established by the EarthCraft program. This acclaimed green building program out of Atlanta employs the latest methods of resource and energy-efficient construction.

Thank you for your support of and contribution to this unique concept.

Gratefully,

Rev. Msgr. James A. Carter, P.A.
